JAMB 2024: How my parents helped me — Rivers-based, 15-year-old with 354 UTME score

JAMB, the 15-year-old Hallel College student Ebube Ejealor, who is devoted to his studies, has shared the key to his impressive 354 score on the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which was administered in April.

The current Head Boy of his school, Faithful Ejealor, received scores of 95 in maths, 95 in physics, 93 in chemistry, and 71 in English use. Faithful was raised in the Imo State local government area of Umuohie-Ukwu Eziama, where she was instilled with the principles of perseverance, hard labour, and faith. His parents made a fantastic investment in his future by getting him a whole set of JAMB previous questions covering the years 1978 to 2023. They saw his ability at a young age.

The boy revealed this in an interview, saying, “My parents bought JAMB past questions from 1978 till 2023 for me, and I was able to use them to practise by solving the questions.” Armed with these resources, Faithful embarked on a rigorous study routine, spending countless hours solving problems, understanding concepts, and sharpening his reading skills. However, Faithful’s journey was not solely defined by academic preparation. In January, he embarked on a spiritual journey, fasting for 15 days and praying fervently for success in his upcoming exams. He asserted that this fusion of faith and action underscored his belief in the power of hard work coupled with divine intervention.

“In January, I prayed to God and fasted for 15 days in order to succeed in my examinations this year. And I did just that—I read and prepared for the tests. I worked pretty hard studying,” he said.

Faithful’s desire to attend Covenant University to study electrical and electronics engineering drove him to maintain his constant concentration and discipline throughout his training. He was unaffected by outside distractions.

Even while he admitted that mathematics was his favourite subject, he claimed that his 354 score was the result of his devotion and optimisation in math and other science courses. Faithful’s narrative inspires aspirant students everywhere as he gets ready to start the next phase of his academic journey (JAMB).

His counsel to remain devout, focused, and resolute strikes a deep chord with people, reassuring them that success is achievable with a mix of tenacity, faith, and hard work.

“I would advise individuals who follow me to study, be resolute, maintain focus, and block out distractions while doing so. After then, you should entrust all that you are doing to God. We ought to be praying all the time,” he continued.

Faithful Ebube Ejealor’s name will live on in the annals of Hallel College history as a monument to the transformational power of faith and education, as well as a symbol of greatness and optimism.
