On Wednesday, Bola Tinubu, the incoming president, provided details on how his administration would run the country’s affairs.
To ensure that Nigerians experience better times and live in the nation of their dreams, he said he was prepared to listen and follow a difficult path.
“Soon after being named the winner of the presidential election, he made this statement at the APC Presidential Campaign Council headquarters in Abuja.”
The speech goes thus:
Greetings, Nigerians!
I’m deeply honored that you chose me to be the 16th President of our great Republic. This is a proud moment in any man’s life and a confirmation of our democracy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Whether you are Batified, Atikulated, Obidient, Kwankwasiyya, or belong to any other political party, I want to thank you for participating in the election and supporting our democratic system.
You chose to put your faith in the democratic dream of a prosperous, united, just, and tolerant Nigeria. In Nigeria, there is new hope.
We applaud INEC for holding a transparent and free election. The few mistakes that did happen had no bearing on the outcome and were few in quantity. With each election cycle, we continuously improve this procedure that is so essential to our democratic existence.

Nigeria is now regarded as the continent of Africa’s powerhouse. As the largest democracy on the continent, it shines even more brilliantly. I appreciate everyone who helped with my campaign. From President Buhari, who expertly oversaw my campaign as its chairman, to Senator Kashim Shettima, my vice presidential candidate.
To our party’s leadership, our devoted party members, and the progressive leaders of our party and this country You have my sincere gratitude. I heartily thank the entire campaign organization.
I give thanks to my devoted wife and family for their unwavering and motivating support. This victory would not be possible without you.
I thank the omnipotent God. I am a Nigerian citizen of His kindness, and I am the election’s winner thanks to His high purpose. May He give me the foresight and bravery I need to guide the country to the glory He alone has planned for it?
Finally, I want to express my gratitude to the people of Nigeria for their unwavering support of our democracy. To every Nigerian, I will be a just leader. To build a country that we can be proud of, I will be sensitive to your dreams, energize your efforts, and hone your abilities.
I offer a hand of friendship to all of my fellow candidates, including former vice president Atiku, former governor Kwankwaso, former governor Obi, and everyone else. This election was a fiercely fought one. I respect you a great deal.
Political compromise and inclusive government must now replace political competitiveness.
You may have been my rival during the election, but you were never my foe. You two are my brothers in my heart.
Nonetheless, I know some candidates will be hard-pushed to accept the election results. You have the right to take legal action. Anybody resorting to violence is not justifiable or right. Any legal challenge to the election results should be brought in a courtroom, not on the streets.
I also implore those who support me to let tensions subside and peace reign. We ran a morally upright, nonviolent, and forward-thinking campaign. Our campaign’s aftermath must be as innocuous.
There are indeed conflicts among us that shouldn’t exist. Many individuals are uncertain, furious, and hurt; I reach out to every one of you. At this crucial time, let’s show the nobler sides of our humanity. Let’s start to mend and calm down our country.
Now, I want to say to you, the young people of this country, that I hear you. I am aware of your suffering and your desire for effective government, a running economy, and a secure country that will look out for you and your future.
I am aware that for many of you, Nigeria has turned into a place of constant difficulties, making it difficult for you to envision a promising future for yourselves.
Our beloved national house needs to be renovated, and this will take a team effort from all of us, especially the young. Together, we can propel this country forward like never before.
Vice President-elect Shettima, who was my running mate, and I are aware of the difficulties that lie ahead. More importantly, we recognize and genuinely cherish your skill and inherent decency as Nigerians. We promise to pay attention and take bold actions that will put us on the path of unstoppable progress. Hold us accountable forcefully, but first, please give us a chance.
For today, tomorrow, and a long time to come, we will work together to create a society that is brighter and more productive. You have awarded me the highest honor you can give to one individual today.
Conclusion
In exchange, as your next president and commander-in-chief, I promise to do everything in my power for you. The cornerstones of the society we want to create are going to be peace, harmony, and wealth. You’ll be proud to call yourself a Nigerian when you consider what we’ll accomplish in the upcoming years.
