The Edo Government denounced the alleged rape and cruel death of Glory Adekolure, a recent graduate of the University of Benin (UNIBEN).

The woman was allegedly raped and murdered on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in the Iyowa Community in Benin City.

Glory, 22, was on her way home from processing her clearance documents when she was tortured and raped to death by unknown perpetrators, according to a source.

Her body was later dropped near her mother’s house. In a statement issued by the state government of Benin, communications and orientation commissioner Chris Nehikhare expressed shock and regret at the event.
