President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to implementing climate-smart farming methods that improve food security and reduce environmental damage.
Tinubu stressed Nigeria’s duty to spearhead a fair energy transition and advance sustainable development in Africa during his remarks at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in the United Arab Emirates.
Three pillars—energy transition, climate resilience, and sustainable development—formed the foundation of Tinubu’s strategy plan. He emphasised current programs like the National Clean Cooking Gas Policy, which supports socioeconomic growth and a clean energy environment.
The President added that Nigeria is implementing eco-friendly, contemporary farming methods to shield local populations from the negative consequences of climate change.
These initiatives aim to increase agricultural productivity and sustainability through private-driven mechanisation and climate-smart land management.
These programs demonstrate Nigeria’s dedication to tackling climate issues through creative and cooperative solutions and are part of a larger plan to improve food production and guarantee environmental sustainability.
