Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as “Mohbad,” died suddenly. His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Elegushi, the Elegushi, Kunsela III, the Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, Lagos, has urged the Police to investigate.
Through his attorney, Adepeju Omotayo, he disclosed this during the ongoing trial of James Adeshola and Awiye Azeez, accusing them of unjustified cyberbullying and defamation against him as a result of Mohbad’s death.
Omotayo went on to say, “The traditional ruler is enthusiastic about this issue and has always urged everyone who seeks justice to do it lawfully and properly. She made it very clear that Kabiesi will not tolerate anyone, regardless of stature or standing in society, damaging his good name and reputation for personal benefit.
She added that Oba Elegushi never saw or spoke with the late Aloba, his wife, or any other member of his family, and expressed her hope that this would put an end to the pointless antics of including him in the situation.
“When they met at the Zone 2 Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Onikan, Kabiesi expressed his strong desire as a father and leader to witness the unravelling of the circumstances leading to Mohbad’s death, and he did this emphatically to Mr. Josiah Aloba, Mohbad’s father, when Mr. Aloba was invited for questioning over unfounded statements and allegations against Kabiesi.”

Additionally, it was stated that Oba Elegushi showed generosity at the meeting by stepping in to prevent Mr. Aloba from being detained by the Police because he wanted to see the late Mohbad and his family receive justice rather than oppression. On July 5, 2024, the two defendants’ trial will recommence at a Federal High Court located in Ikoyi, Lagos.
