From Monday through Wednesday, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted thundery and rainy weather across the nation. Early morning thunderstorms were predicted for portions of Taraba, Adamawa, Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, and Kaduna States in NiMet’s weather outlook, which was announced on Sunday in Abuja.
Later in the day, thunderstorms are predicted over portions of the states of Taraba, Kaduna, Yobe, Katsina, Kano, Borno, Bauchi, and Jigawa. “During the morning hours, rain is predicted in the North Central region over portions of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Niger, and Nasarawa states. Later in the day, areas of the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Kwara, Plateau, and Kogi States are expected to get thunderstorms and rain.
It said, “Parts of Lagos, Abia, Ebonyi, Ondo, Ogun, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River are expected to experience morning drizzle and rains, while the entire southern region is expected to experience intermittent rains in the afternoon and evening hours.”
Tuesday morning thunderstorms were predicted by NiMet to pass over Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna, Gombe, Katsina, Kano, Bauchi, Yobe, Borno, and Jigawa. Later in the day, thunderstorms were expected over portions of the states of Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, Bauchi, Yobe, Borno, and Jigawa.
Rain is predicted to fall in the north-central region throughout the early hours over portions of the Federal Capital Territory, Benue State, and Kogi State. Later in the day, areas of the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger, Kogi, Kwara, and Benue States are expected to get thunderstorms and rain.
“Thunderstorms and rain are predicted later in the day over portions of the Plateau, Nasarawa, Federal Capital Territory, Kogi, Kwara, and Benue States.” It stated that “morning rains are anticipated over parts of Cross River and Akwa Ibom States, while intermittent rains are anticipated over the entire southern region in the afternoon/evening hours.” For efficient planning in their operations, NiMet advised airline operators to obtain up-to-date weather reports and predictions from NiMet.
