IDW: Digital and Technology Empowerment For Nigeria Women 2023 Episode – QNET

by Tolulope Akinruli

To empower women in Nigeria, the international direct e-commerce company QNET has renewed its commitment to doing so by offering essential technology resources relevant to the direct selling industry.

As part of the celebration of International Women’s Day, with the theme “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality,” QNET’s Sub-Saharan Africa Regional General Manager Biram Fall said the company is working to make society more inclusive and equal through digital channels so that women can thrive, realize their full potential, and become financially independent.

He claimed that by emphasizing the role technology plays in empowering women and closing the gender gap, QNET enhanced this year’s topic.

Fall stated: “At QNET, we think that gender equality and women’s empowerment are essential for a fair society.

However, with the help of our direct selling and e-commerce platform, women can launch their enterprises, generate income, and learn new skills while juggling obligations to their families and the workplace. Women may control their income, set goals, and timetables, and work from home on their own.

Again, Digital platforms and technology are used by direct-selling businesses to give everyone, but particularly women, access to chances for entrepreneurship, financial independence, and personal development.

The industry gives everyone access to distinctive goods, which they then sell to other people to make money. Without much or any money, one can start their own business with ease. This has promoted equal access for women of all ages, social classes, and educational levels.

In essence, the number of women in Nigeria has increased significantly during the past 50 years, rising from 29.8 million to 108 million. The Nigerian labor sector lacks the resources to accommodate such a growing population, thus this huge development gives a chance for direct-selling businesses to recruit more women.

As a result, direct selling is a fantastic opportunity for any business-minded individual to prosper by becoming a part of a global market that offers exclusive and certified products that may be sold to generate money.

“The multidimensional strategy removes all barriers that women may experience in their efforts to get employment, raise their incomes, and launch their enterprises.”

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) concurs that women’s contributions as entrepreneurs are crucial to the development of the world economy. They support economies by generating income, jobs, and increased revenue while lowering gender disparities. According to a survey by the IFC, women start firms more quickly than males do in many emerging economies, which has a considerable positive impact on economic growth.

The Institute of Development Studies’ research indicates that women in Nigeria are less engaged in the labor force. According to a World Economic Forum survey, women have very little chance of getting a business loan. As a result, girls are more likely than their male colleagues with the same degree of training and experience to have lower-paying prospects.

Also, Mr. Ajisafe, Chief Executive Officer of Transblue Nigeria Ltd, stated that women battle to keep their commitments to their families and communities even when the odds are stacked against them.

To keep their promises and accomplish their goals, these female business owners multitask.

In conclusion, this year’s International Women’s Day enables us to recognize the contribution that technology and innovation in direct selling have made to empowering our QNET women. Today, we salute all women and recognize their tenacity.
