Hon. Mai Mala Buni, Governor of Yobe State, has authorised a minimum wage of N70,000 for state civil personnel beginning in December 2024.

According to Comrade Mohammed Mamman, Director General of Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, the approval came in the form of a document signed by Governor Buni CON in response to recommendations from the state government’s Minimum Wage Committee.

“The committee had proposed a reconciliation of local government finances to facilitate a smooth transition for local government councils from their current salary structure to the new minimum wage.

“The reconciliation process, which is nearing completion, is expected to be completed soon for approval and prompt enrolment of local government employees in the new minimum wage salary structure.”

“The Government expects civil servants in the state to reciprocate the gesture by putting in their best to ensure effective and efficient service delivery”.
