Bob Jay, a suspect in an armed robbery known only by his nickname, and other gang members broke into a student’s dorm in Unicross, Okuku campus, on Friday night, and Bob Jay ended up falling into an open well.
One of the thugs fell into an open well following the theft, according to a student named Regina who attended the school. The robbers reportedly targeted students in their hostel at around midnight and took away laptops, phones, and cash. A large number of people arrived at midnight.
Every student in the Okuku hostel was robbed by them. They stole phones, laptops, and other goods after stabbing one student and using a stick to break the head of another.
She stated that students utilised the uncovered well to get water for bathing and laundry. When students went to get water in the morning and saw a dead guy inside the well, no one realised that one of the robbers had fallen into it. They sounded the alarm, and the locals arrived to remove him.
He was recognised as one of the robbers, and several indicated that his name was Bob Jay from the nearby village of Mbube. She added that once the police were called, they arrived and removed the body. Since the thief’s phone was blurry when it was pulled out of his picket, she stated that no other gang members have been identified yet.
