The StartUp Academy is committed to developing entrepreneurial potential by giving prospective company owners the tools, resources, and know-how they need to be successful.
The Allan Grey Makers Startup Academy is an 8-month incubation program created to give prospective artisan entrepreneurs who want to launch new companies in the plumbing and electrical professions extensive support and entrepreneurship training.
The StartUp Academy provides participants with:
- Comprehensive training in entrepreneurial, industry, technical, business, and market readiness
- Access to a network of successful entrepreneurs and industry experts
- Ongoing mentorship and support throughout the programme
- Lifelong support through the association upon successful completion
Eligibility
- Applicant should be aged 18-35 years.
- Relevant trade: Electrical/Plumbing.
- Unemployed or self-employed (not studying).
- Qualified electrician or plumber with a trade test.
- OR, have 3 years work experience in the relevant trade and are ready to take the trade test.
- OR, N2 certificate and 3 years work experience in either the electrical or plumbing trade.

- N2 Certificate/National Technical Diploma/Trade Test if applicable
- Proof of work experience
- National Senior Certificate (is advantageous)
- Certified Copy of ID
