Eligibility Period: Entries must have been first published or broadcast between May 1, 2024, and June 7, 2025.

Submission Deadline: June 7, 2025, at midnight GMT. Late entries will not be accepted.
Eligibility Criteria

Open to journalists, journalism students, and professional fact-checkers across Africa.

Entries must be the original work of the individual or team identified in the entry form.

The fact-check must expose a claim on an important topic that originated in or is relevant to Africa as misleading or wrong.

Entries must be an original piece of fact-checking journalism first published or broadcast within the eligibility period.
Judging Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated based on:

Significance: The importance of the claim is investigated for wider society.

Testing: The rigour of the verification process against available evidence.

Presentation: Clarity and accessibility of the fact-checking report.

Impact: The effect of the fact-check on public discourse and debate.
