Being famous allows you to get away with doing many things. When Hazel Oyeze Onou, a.k.a. Whitemoney, disclosed in a podcast interview how he handles his employees, this must have been going through his head.
But he was completely mistaken. And before he could even blink an eyelash, horror was unleashed upon him. The reality TV personality revealed to the podcast EchoRoom that he pays his employees five years ahead of time. He further stated that he employs 150 people, as if that wasn’t enough alone to gasp. To maintain a straight face, even the interviewer had to do a double take, whitemoney.
His response: “Yeah, that’s true. I utilise that method to help me decompress since I’m a multi-talented person who quickly gets carried away and I operate on that system. Then someone asked him how many employees he had. In response, he said, “Now 150.” With an excessive aim, the comment section went into overdrive.
Even those who could imagine the winner of BBNaija having 150 employees were unable to hide their sarcasm with adequate finesse. Others had it all to themselves as they threw all kinds of jabs at him.
A few responses (whitemoney)
@jacqmiracle, “White lies and white money are like five and six.” @viola_concept lienus, “Five years ahead of time? Typical. Not even one person pays a year ahead of time. @petezslim, “This podcast is just going to lie to you all the time. You can hire a million people, but you’re claiming to have paid them five years ahead of time. Stop, stop, stop.” @x_mandax, “How many vice presidents of staff do they get back?”

@beata_likela This is an unbelievable untruth. I don’t think any worker would want to receive their entire five years’ income in one go and then labour for another five years without getting paid on a monthly basis. That means there won’t be any increases for five years, or the five-year payment plan already includes the expected increases? Does he have to pay for the things himself? Why not hire someone to handle the payment as well?
