The inaugural class of the Wema Export Trade Academy has been completed by Wema Bank, the forerunner of Africa’s first totally digital bank.
According to the statement, the initiative gives Nigerian small and medium-sized businesses the tools, resources, and knowledge they need to enter and succeed in the global market.
In Lagos, the Academy welcomed more than 40 participants, the bank said in a statement. It demonstrates Wema Bank’s dedication to improving Nigeria’s economic environment by giving regional companies access to new international markets.
According to the statement, SMEs facing significant obstacles in international trade can receive practical assistance from the Wema Export Trade Academy.
The five-day sessions covered important topics of export documentation, compliance, financial planning, and risk management.
They were led by top industry facilitators such as Dr. Bamidele Ayemibo, an expert in international trade education throughout Africa, and Dr. Nduka Udeh, founder of Shoptomydoor.com and a pioneer in affordable global logistics and procurement services.
The export process, including the financial requirements of exporters, the expectations of global purchasers, and locating possible foreign buyers, was thoroughly understood by the participants. These SMEs now possess the resources necessary to approach international markets with more expertise, assurance, and planning.
Ayemibo highlighted the value of sustainable practices and practical insights in his reflections on the Academy’s influence.
