Update: Delta Residents Applaud Okowa For Providing N1.9 Billion In Complementary Money For Erosion Management

by Tolulope Akinruli

Amachai/Igwogwo road to Akwuku Igbo and Ogbeozoma road/erosion site control received N1.9 billion in counterpart funding, which was approved by Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa. The Okpanam community in Oshimili North Local Government Area has praised this decision.

The community was urged to cast their votes en masse for Sheriff Oborevwori of the PDP in the March 18 governorship election by Amb. Felix Ideh, the senior special assistant to the governor of Delta State.

“I want to inform you that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has authorized the amount of N1.9 billion for the counterpart funding of the Amachai/Igwogwo road to Akwuku Igbo and erosion site control, the Ogbeozoma road/erosion site control, and the Obodogba area erosion control, among other projects,” he stated.”

However, the World Bank and European Investment Bank would provide funding for and oversee the construction of this project.

By overwhelmingly supporting Oborevwori in the March 18 election, the Amachii Quarters and the Okpanam community as a whole embraced and supported the optimistic vision of the People’s Democratic Party’s governorship candidate.

Our door-to-door campaign is intended to remind you that Oborevwori will continue the developmental advancements made by the Okowa-led administration not only in Okpanam but also across the state.

In terms of road infrastructure, school upgrades, human capital development, and political appointments, he pointed out that the town had benefited much from the Okowa administration.

Ideh emphasized the significance of showing the governor appreciation by casting a sizable majority of votes for Oborevwori and every PDP House of Assembly candidate. If any other political party than the PDP wins the governorship election, this crucial infrastructure may be terminated.

He reminded the good people of Okpanam that despite being close to the state capital of Asaba, they had not had it so well before the Okowa administration took office in 2015. He claimed that the PDP-led state government had always prioritized the Okpanam community in its plans, despite the town’s location.

Ideh continued the campaign at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Amachai Quarters, Okpanam, where he urged the congregation to exercise good judgment on March 18 by voting for Oborevwori since he is the honorable and appointed candidate to inhabit the Delta state Government House.

Conclusion

To reduce the stress they experience when using the roads, he claimed that with the help of the Secretary to the state government, Patrick Ukah, they had started maintaining some of the roads. He also noted that work to install street lights had started.
