Presidential Spokesman Bayo Onanuga said, “President Tinubu joins the Biodun Shobanjo family, friends, and well-wishers in honouring a highly esteemed marketing communications expert and multiple award-winning advertising icon.” Biodun Shobanjo began his successful career at Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation before joining Grant Advertising in 1971.
He was appointed deputy managing director in 1976 and departed four years later to establish Insight Communications, which was an instant game changer in Nigeria’s advertising business. Shobanjo and his team converted Insight into a massive marketing firm, acquiring Quadrant, Nigeria’s first PR Consultancy, and All Seasons Mediacom, Nigeria’s first Media Independent
.Over time, he merged all of the firms under the Troyka Organisation, including Halogen Security, which he started in 1992. The President recognised Dr. Shobanjo’s important contributions to the advancement of the marketing communications industry, which is critical to Nigeria’s economic growth, social development, and infrastructure improvement.
He praised Dr. Shobanjo’s impressive career path and highlighted his accomplishments as a broadcaster, entrepreneur, and advertising professional.
President Tinubu stated that these successes demonstrate the characteristics of discipline, integrity, and dedication, which encourage young professionals.
