The Women Techsters Fellowship Class 2024 was introduced by Tech4Dev yesterday with the goal of equipping 3,000 women with digital skills, as captioned by Entrepreneurng report.
However, co-Founder and Executive Director, Tech4Dev, Oladiwura Oladepo said that the Women Techster Fellowship is intended to bridge the significant gender gap between men and women in the technology ecosystem and to ensure equal access to opportunities for all. She was speaking in Lagos at the official launch and call for applications.
Furthermore, she continued by saying that the Initiative intends to provide girls and women in Nigeria and Africa between the ages of 16 and 40 with the various levels of digital, deep tech, and soft skills necessary within the technology ecosystem.

Again, the Women Techsters Fellowship got 14,782 applications overall last year, accepted 1,398 of them, and graduated 847 remarkable women who are currently receiving support to find technology positions in line with their individual skill specialties, the speaker stated.

Nontheless, speaking about the Class 2024, Oladiwura said: “We have taken things a step further and will be offering up the program to a total of 22 countries. We have incorporated data and learnings from past years as we prepared for the Women Techsters Fellowship Class of 2024.

We have the pleasure of announcing that on April 27, 2023, at precisely 6 p.m. West African Time, applications will open for the Women Techsters fellowship class of 2024, which begins in September.

In conclusion, a total of 3,000 girls and women from 22 different African nations will be accepted into the class of 2024.
