Ajike Collection, a fashion and lifestyle retail brand founded by young entrepreneur Olokuta Rofiat Ajike, is gaining attention as a fast-growing business that evolved from a student survival hustle into a structured retail platform.
Established in 2022 while Ajike was still an undergraduate, the brand was born at a time she faced the pressure of balancing academics with personal financial responsibilities. What began as a small idea to meet daily needs quickly developed into a steady business that helped her pay bills, cover expenses and remain financially independent throughout her university years.
Ajike Collection initially operated as a dropshipping business, sourcing products from different suppliers and delivering directly to customers.
The model allowed the brand to start with minimal capital, but it also exposed the business to early setbacks.
According to Ajike, some suppliers delivered items that did not match customer orders, resulting in dissatisfaction, public criticism and growing trust issues.
She said many customers demanded live photos or videos before making payments, an expectation she struggled to meet at the time because she did not hold physical inventory.
Rather than abandon the business, Ajike said she focused on protecting the brand’s reputation by improving communication, transparency and customer engagement.
Over time, she developed strategies that helped reassure customers, rebuild trust and retain loyal buyers.
The founder described one of her earliest milestones as purchasing her first iPhone solely from profits made through the business, an achievement she said symbolised financial discipline and proof that the brand could sustain itself.
As Ajike Collection expanded, the business moved from a purely dropshipping model to holding inventory, giving it more control over product quality, delivery timelines and customer satisfaction.
Today, the brand has grown into a trusted platform where other vendors now dropship through Ajike Collection, leveraging its credibility, customer base and operational structure.
From a small undergraduate venture to a growing retail brand with loyal customers and partner sellers, Ajike Collection is positioning itself as a business driven by resilience, strategic growth and long-term entrepreneurial ambition.
