Spain and Nigeria Aim to Boost Bilateral Trade to $4 Billion in 2024

The Spanish government has expressed its intent to elevate bilateral trade with Nigeria beyond the current threshold of $4 billion. Dele Kelvin Oye, the President of the Nigerian Association Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA), emphasized the need for enhanced collaboration between Nigeria and Spain to achieve this goal.

Addressing a civil reception organized in honor of the crew of the Spanish Navy Ship (SPS), BAM TOURNADO, at the Western Naval Command Headquarters in Lagos, Captain David Castillo, the ship’s captain, highlighted that the visit aimed to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and Spain and enhance maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea. He noted that the visit would also contribute to fortifying the trade relationship between the two countries.

Rear Admiral Mustapha Hassan, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) of the Western Naval Command in Apapa, Lagos, emphasized the positive history of bilateral relations and maritime security cooperation between Spain and Nigeria. The commitment to strengthening these ties reflects the mutual interest in fostering economic and security collaboration between the two nations.
