On Friday, Imo State’s commercial and transport activities were resumed. On Thursday, the state’s citizens had abstained from the nationwide demonstration against the country’s purportedly poor governance.

While people were going about their regular business, it was accumulated in Owerri’s many streets. Shop owners at the Relief and Ekeukwu markets were also open to serve their patrons.

Nonetheless, Imo State Police command personnel have persisted in their confidence-boosting patrols and forceful operations throughout the entirety of the state.

“Today, the 2/1/2024, the Commissioner of Police Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, in synergy with the heads of other security agencies, are out for confidence-building patrol and operation show-of-force across the length and breadth of the state,” stated State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Henry Okoye.

“There isn’t a single protest going on in the State. The observation is ongoing. The state is comparatively quiet and serene, and Imolites are conducting their legal business.

“We kindly request that the good people of Imo State exercise caution when it comes to security and report any suspicious person or activity in their area to the closest Police Station or by calling 08034773600 or 08148024755.l,” the police stated.
