The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced its ex-depot petrol price from ₦880 to ₦865 per litre, following the resumption of domestic sales in Naira.
This ₦15 decrease is expected to lead to lower pump prices across Nigeria, with filling stations like MRS Oil & Gas and Ardova Plc anticipated to adjust their prices accordingly.
This price adjustment comes after the Nigerian government renewed the naira-for-crude agreement with the refinery, allowing for continued domestic transactions in the local currency.
The resumption of Naira-based sales is expected to stabilize fuel prices and reduce reliance on imports.
The Dangote Refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, aims to meet Nigeria’s fuel demands and contribute to energy independence. Industry experts view this development as a positive step towards a more competitive and self-sufficient energy sector in Nigeria.
