The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has recently reduced petrol pump prices across its stations nationwide. In Abuja, the price has been adjusted from ₦950 to ₦935 per litre, while in Lagos, it has decreased from ₦925 to ₦910 per litre.
This price reduction aligns with a broader trend in the Nigerian fuel market, influenced by Dangote Refinery’s decision to lower its ex-depot petrol price to ₦835 per litre. Consequently, Dangote’s partner stations, including MRS and AP, are retailing petrol between ₦890 and ₦920 per litre, depending on the location.
In addition to the price cuts, NNPCL has initiated promotional activities, such as distributing free fuel to early customers at select stations, to enhance customer engagement and loyalty.
These developments reflect the intensifying competition in Nigeria’s downstream oil sector, leading to more consumer-friendly pricing and services.
