Nigerian OTC Securities Exchange Rises 0.54%

On Monday, the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange closed 0.54 percent higher on the back of renewed investor confidence in the space.

The value of the Nigerian OTC securities exchange increased by N5.02 billion at the close of transactions to N933.98 billion, up from N928.96 billion in the previous session last Friday.

Similarly, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) rose 3.82 points to end the day at 710.79 points, up from 706.97 points in the previous trading session.

During the session, the market breadth was flat, as there were two price gainers and two price losers.

FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc increased its value by N2.40 to sell at N67.40 per unit, up from N65.00 per unit in the previous session, and Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc increased its value by 20 Kobo to trade at N13.20 per unit, up from N13.00 per unit previously.

On the other hand, NASD Plc fell 44 Kobo to sell at N14.35 per share, down from N14.79 per share last Friday, and UBN Property Plc fell 8 Kobo to close at 70 Kobo per share, down from 78 Kobo per share.

According to EntrepreneurNG, the volume of securities traded at the bourse by investors decreased by 25.1% to 15.9 million units from 21.3 million units.

However, the value of shares traded yesterday increased by 33.9 percent to N27.1 million from N20.2 million, while the number of transactions increased by 54.6 percent to 17 from 11 transactions.

Geo Fluids Plc remained the most traded stock by volume year to date, selling 40.9 million units worth N32.3 million, UBN Property Plc was second with 24.7 million units worth N17.6 million, and NASD Plc displaced FrieslandCampina in third place after selling 944,112 units worth N13.6 million.

VFD Group Plc had the most traded stock by value (year to date) with 422,074 units worth N103.0 million, FrieslandCampina had 833,772 units worth N54.9 million, and Geo Fluids Plc had 40.9 million units worth N32.3 million.
