New Update: Nwobodo Urges Youth to Support PDP Candidate Mbah in Overwhelming Numbers

by Tolulope Akinruli

Sen. Jim Nwobodo, a former governor of Old Anambra, has backed Dr. Peter Mbah, the PDP’s nominee for governor of Enugu State, as his sole candidate in the elections scheduled for March 18.

Nwobodo further urged young people in the state to vote en masse for Mbah and to abstain from violence, resist calls for violence, and vote with resentment and revenge.

PDP leaders, including Sen. Chuka Utazi, Senate Minority Whip, Hon. Toby Okechukwu, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, Hon. Ofor Chukwuegbo, Sen. Gil Nnaji, and former House Member Ogbuefi Ozomgbachi, among others are in full support.

The elderly Nwobodo pleaded with the young people to choose a candidate who could rebuild Enugu and provide them with the brighter future they deserved.

For the young people, I beg you to go to your local polling places on March 18 and cast your vote for Peter Mbah, a job creator and someone who can relate to your struggles.

“Mbah is the one who will restore Enugu to its former standing as the capital of the South-East and the old Eastern Region.”

“I promise that Peter Mbah won’t let the people of Enugu State down. The young people are inspired by Peter Mbah. For the Enugu State of your dreams, vote for Peter Mbah, he urged.”

According to Nwobodo, Mbah’s manifesto is “a working document, with plans of action and timeframes for the fulfillment,” and is not just empty rhetoric. He would also discuss the difficulties facing the residents of Enugu State.

“Take a hopeful view and vote rationally and objectively for Peter Mbah,” he said, urging the people of the state to reject divisive cries, sentimental voting, and clannish voting that would maintain Enugu in a condition of stunted development.”

However, he further stated that he can’t gamble his reputation on someone at my age and stage of life without first taking the time to get to know them. Every time we spoke, I could see Mbah’s enthusiasm for the growth of Enugu State overall, not simply Nkanu East.

In the conversations I’ve had with Peter over the years, I’ve taken the time to get to know the real Peter Mbah—his personality, his interpersonal skills, and his leadership abilities—and I’ve come to believe that he is the kind of leader Enugu State needs right now.

Again, Peter Mbah is not a street person or a government official who is moving from one appointment to another.

My interactions with Peter Mbah confirm it. His manifesto demonstrates his profound understanding of the issues we face in the Enugu State.

The former governor claimed that only Mbah had among the contenders shown skill and capability in real-world situations, noting that Mbah had established a business organization that had produced jobs for both young Nigerians and foreigners.

In conclusion, he claims that people of every gender, age group, and ethnic group can relate to Mbah’s philosophy. According to what I know about Peter Mbah, he is that person.
