Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, rode on the waves of race and religion throughout the election on Saturday, according to the campaign council for the All Progressives Congress, proving that he will be remembered as the nation’s “most dangerous and divisive politician.”
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the winner of the hotly disputed presidential election on Saturday, was declared the victor on Wednesday.
With 8,794,726 votes, Tinubu defeated the LP’s nominee and Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s closest challenger, by 6,984,520 and 6,101,533 votes, respectively.
However, Atiku and Obi have both contested the results, alleging that there was widespread cheating and violence during the election.
As a result, many have turned to the legal system to seek redress. Alake said he couldn’t comprehend how a divisive politician like Obi could take advantage of Nigerian teenagers who were sincerely looking for a hero, dismissing LP’s attempt to persuade the court.
For Obi, he would be remembered as Nigeria’s most perilous and polarizing leader. By explicitly basing his campaign on religion and ethnicity, he raised his well-known clannish attitude to a most disastrous level. He positioned himself as the face and advocate of our nation’s flaws. He profited from the fast-paced demands, lack of interest in justifications, and hero-seeking of our young.
He exaggerated their feelings and rode on them, feigning to be their savior. It was a deceitful pretense. Obi’s reputation will always be tarnished as a previous governor who left no noteworthy legacy.
Many of our young people believed Peter Obi to be the leader they desired, and many of them could not stand criticism of their new hero. They purposefully decided to make him a saint while adamantly demanding that inquiries be avoided.
Obi believed he could win a presidential election in Nigeria because of the alliance of the disaffected youths, ethnic champions, and business clerics. The Labour Party is accustomed to such irrationality.
The question is how did the Labour Party propose to compete with political parties like the APC and PDP if it could not fill up its quota for polling booth agents with a shortage of over 40, 000? Because the party was unable to appoint observers to nearly a quarter of the polling places, it will be fascinating to see what evidence of election rigging the Labour Party will bring to the court.
Alake praised Obi and Atiku for deciding to take their dispute to court, but he said it would take a miracle for them to succeed in having the election results overturned.
The former commissioner of Lagos reaffirmed that by the time they had completed their trip, the APC train would have departed in its effort to improve Nigeria for all Nigerians. We wish to enjoin the PDP and LP to pursue their complaints in a dignified manner as we anticipate meeting them both in court. They ought to urge their followers, members, and advisors from various racial and religious groups to adhere to the rule of law.
“It is inaccurate to say that INEC did not employ the BVAS. Atiku and Obi were among the individuals who cast ballots across Nigeria who were recognized by BVAS. We should be applauding the enormous improvement the usage of BVAS has brought to our election process rather than bemoaning the bad losers that these two persons have proven to be. There is no legal basis for the complaint regarding the electronic transmission of the result.”
The PDP and LP incorrectly claimed that Section 38 of the Electoral Act 2022 had nothing to do with the transmission of election results. The transmission of results is subject to INEC’s discretion and is covered by Section 60, Subsection 2 of the Act.
However, Yunusa Tanko, the chief spokesperson for the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Committee, reacted by claiming that the ruling party’s relentless attacks on Obi were an effort to hide their fear.
According to Tanko, almost all of the President-followers elects are aware that he did not win the election and would soon learn this in court, which is why they purposefully used intimidation.
The APC meant someone they are already afraid of when he stated our principal is dangerous. He gave them a real run for their money and they have never gotten like him. They used highly criminally inclined people who assisted them in assigning outcomes to states. Something has come to light. And as a result, they are terrified that we would support that claim in court.
“The bulk of them who have criminally prevented people from voting while also subverting the will of the people wind up in jail. They have been afraid of that.
In conclusion, all these theatrics and declarations they are making are an attempt by a man who is drowning and has been discovered as a result of the false information and propaganda they have been disseminating. Yet, we have demonstrated as Democrats that we would save Nigeria and put her on the correct track while putting her oppressors to shame.
