Applications are now open for the fourth edition of the AfricaTech Awards, organized by Viva Technology (VivaTech). This pan-African initiative aims to recognize and support startups making significant impacts in three critical sectors: GreenTech, HealthTech, and E-commerce/FinTech.
Award Categories:

GreenTech: Solutions aimed at reducing environmental impact, lowering COâ‚‚ emissions, protecting biodiversity, or promoting the sustainable use of natural resources.
- HealthTech: Innovations that enhance healthcare delivery, accessibility, and overall health outcomes.

E-commerce/FinTech: Solutions contributing to the economic development of African countries in the areas of e-commerce and finance.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Startups operating and headquartered in Africa.
- Focus on one of the three categories: GreenTech, HealthTech, or E-commerce/FinTech.
- Have raised more than USD 150,000.
- Provide solutions or products addressing the African market.
Application Process:
Interested startups should apply through the official VivaTech platform between January 16, 2025, at 14:30 CET and March 2, 2025, at 23:55 CET. The application requires filling in the necessary information and uploading relevant documents to showcase the startup’s innovation and impact.
Key Dates:
- January 16, 2025: Launch of the Challenge.
- March 2, 2025: Application deadline (with a possibility of extension until March 9).
- April 14, 2025: Announcement of the top 45 startups (15 per category).
- April 28, 2025: Announcement of the top 9 startups (3 per category).
- June 11-14, 2025: VivaTech Event in Paris, France.
- June 11, 2025: Final session on the AfricaTech Lab.
- June 12, 2025: Awards Ceremony.
Benefits:
Selected startups will have the opportunity to network and receive mentorship from leaders in technology, major investors, policymakers, and institutions. This exposure aims to create new opportunities for emerging startups across Africa.
