Another 65 young people and artisans have received training under the National Directorate of Employment’s (NDE) Basic Business Training Scheme (BBTS) in Osun State as part of efforts to create jobs, build wealth for self-reliance, and boost productivity as captioned by Entrepreneur report.

The director-general, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, said the directorate will always be unstoppable to deliver her mandate through empowerment programs aimed at creating jobs, wealth, and capacity building for the unemployed person(s) despite the current economic pressure. He was speaking at the flag-off of the 5-day training program anchored by the Small Scale Enterprise Department of NDE, Osun in Osogbo.

Having a business is not enough for success, according to Fikpo, which was represented at the event by the state coordinator, Mr. Fakunle Julius. Instead, the organization noted that having management skills as a work tool is the key to success and avoiding business failure, which is a major concern of the Directorate.
Mallam Fikpo revealed that the program represented the first phase of the training program across 18 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)Â while praising the federal government’s dedication to the empowerment programs through consistent funding.

According to him, small-scale businesses are a noteworthy area of activity to demonstrate the visibility role of artisans as significant contributors to national productivity growth and as a learning environment for school dropouts who have undergone such business training as a starters pack and who subsequently have a multiplier effect in reducing unemployment.
The Osun state NDEÂ has thought it well because many young ones are challenged with money. The opportunity of going to a good standard school is far from them. Some of them engage in activities such as hacking and some young girls might become pregnant in the process.
This opportunity is one in its kind despite the economic situation in the country.

In conclusion, Speaking on behalf of the HOD, Small Scale Enterprise, Ms. Chikodi Ike, and Mrs. Ngozi Oluchukwu challenged participants to use all of the skills they learned throughout the exercise in their varied career pursuits for overall success.
It is now left for these 65 people to take full advantage of this life opportunity that could improve their quality of life and also a medium to eradicate poverty.
