Naira Falls to N1,630 per Dollar in Parallel Market

On Friday, the naira weakened to N1,630 per dollar in the parallel market, down from N1,625 on Thursday.

Throughout the week, the currency showed a fluctuating trend, having started with a decline to N1,610 per dollar.

Compared to the previous weekend’s closing rate of N1,606, the naira has depreciated by 1.49 per cent.

Black market traders attribute the continued drop in value to a persistent rise in dollar demand coupled with limited supply.
