Naira falls to N1,534 per dollar at official market

On Friday, the Naira strengthened to N1,245 per dollar on the parallel market, up from N1,250 per dollar on Thursday.

Similarly, the currency rose to N1,251.05 per dollar on the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM).

According to FMDQ data, the indicative exchange rate for NAFEM declined to N1,251.05 per dollar from N1,255.07 per dollar on Thursday, indicating a naira appreciation of N4.02.

The market achieved an intraday high of N1,281 per dollar and an intraday low of N1,220 per dollar, for an N61 margin.

The market’s dollar volume climbed by 78.6 percent to $248.27 million, up from $138.99 million on Thursday.

As a result, the gap between parallel market and NAFEM rates grew to N6.05 per dollar from N5.07 per dollar on Thursday.
