At the age of 77, Chief Femi Esho, the Chairman of Evergreen Musical Company, passed away. Bimbo Esho, the daughter of the deceased, stated in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos that the music professional passed away on Monday following a brief illness.
“We announce the passing to glory of our patriarch, Mr. Samuel Babafemi Esho, also known as Baba Musician, “Baba Esho,” etc.,” the statement read.
At the age of 77, Baba Esho passed away to greater glory on Monday, June 17, 2024, following a brief illness.
“Baba Esho was the founder of the Evergreen Music Heritage Foundation and the chairman of the Evergreen Musical Company until his passing. Baba Esho served as a guide and “encyclopaedia” for several enthusiasts of “Highlife music.”

He will be known for having devoted a great deal of his life to ensuring the “immortality” of Nigerian Highlife, Juju, Sakara, Apala, Afrobeat, and a variety of other indigenous Nigerian and African music genres.
