Actor John Okafor, better known by his stage name Mr Ibu, was buried today in his hometown of Amuri, in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The actor suffered difficulties from the amputation of one leg, and in March 2024, he died in Lagos from heart arrest.
Born and bred in Enugu, John Okafor initially became well-known in 2004 when he acted alongside the late Ita Iheme in the movie “Mr. Ibu.”
He starred in almost 200 Nollywood productions during the course of his illustrious career, making a name for himself with hits including “Mr. Ibu,” “Mr. Ibu and His Son,” “Coffin Producers,” “Husband Suppliers,” “International Players,” “Mr. Ibu in London,” and “Police Recruit.”
The actor, who graduated from the Institute of Management and Technology in Enugu State, won over millions of admirers both domestically and abroad because to his distinct style and comic flair.
He was sixty-two when he passed away, leaving a legacy of humour and unforgettable performances.
