In a recent move by the Central Bank of Nigeria to restructure leadership, Hassan Imam has been unveiled as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Keystone Bank, one of the prominent banks affected by the recent dissolution of boards.
Keystone Bank, a full-service commercial bank, is owned by Sigma Golf River Bank Consortium, acquired from the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) in 2017. The bank received its banking license from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on August 5, 2011.
Imam takes the reins from Olaniran Olayinka, who served as the former Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Keystone Bank since March 2020.

Professional Background
Hassan Imam brings over 25 years of comprehensive banking experience to his role. Before he was appointed CEO at Keystone Bank, he held the position of Executive Director of the North Directorate at Fidelity Bank since January 2020.
His career at Fidelity Bank included key roles such as General Manager and Regional Bank Head for Abuja. In this capacity, Imam oversaw Commercial, SME, Consumer, and Public Sector businesses across 19 states in the North Region of Nigeria, including Abuja.
Imam commenced his banking career at FSB International Bank in April 1998, progressing steadily post-merger with Fidelity Bank in 2005. His journey at Fidelity Bank saw him rise to the position of General Manager before being appointed to the Board of Fidelity Bank.
Throughout his leadership roles in diverse areas of banking, including Commercial Banking, Consumer Banking, SME, Risk Management, and Trade Finance, Imam consistently leveraged his expertise to enhance market share across critical sectors.
Educational Background
Hassan Imam holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and has pursued two Master’s Degrees, including an MBA. His commitment to continuous learning is evident through executive management programs at renowned institutions such as Harvard Business School, IESE Business School, and Wharton Business School.
