Journalist and media manager of Access Bank, Abdul Imoyo has passed away.
The publicity secretary for the Association of Corporate and Marketing Communications Professionals in Banks in Nigeria (ACAMB), Abdul Kolawole Imoyo, passed away.
The association said in a statement signed by ACAMB President Rasheed Bolarinwa that the journalist and corporate media manager passed away at First Cardiology in Ikoyi, Lagos, early on December 17, 2023, following a brief illness.
Until his demise, Imoyo served as the head of media relations at Access Holdings “where he contributed significantly to the financial group’s communication strategies and public image”.
“Imoyo was known for his dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to excellence in the field of corporate communications,” the association said.
“His contributions to ACAMB and the broader corporate landscape will be remembered and celebrated by colleagues, associates, and the entire banking community.
“With nostalgia, the Association recalls that late Imoyo played active roles in cementing the bonds of relationship between ACAMB and other industry Bodies like FICAN, CAMCAN, etc) while he was in the Media.
“That he emerged the Publicity Secretary of the current ACAMB Exco was in recognition of his amiable traits, needed to wedge the critical stakeholders in the industry ”
ACAMB expressed its condolences to the Imoyo family and Access Holdings Group during this trying time and thanked Imoyo for his outstanding contributions to the association and corporate world.
According to the statement, the family will communicate the specifics of the memorial service and funeral plans at a later time.
The Imoyo family is currently grieving the loss of a member, so the association requested their privacy.
From 2006 to 2010, Imoyo worked for BusinessDay Newspapers as an assistant finance editor before joining Access Bank.
