Market Continues Resurgence with ASI Closing Week at 101,330.85 Points

The upward trend observed throughout the week on the NGX persisted, with the market’s All-Share Index (ASI) further appreciating by 995.55 points, representing a 0.99% increase, to close at 101,330.85 points.

Equities saw a significant boost today, with the market capitalization climbing by N560 billion to N57.29 trillion, up from yesterday’s N56.73 trillion.

Familiar stocks MTN Nigeria and Dangote Sugar surged by 9.99% and 9.98%, respectively, leading the day’s gainers. Conversely, FTNCOCOA continued its decline, dropping its share price by 9.80% following a 10% decrease yesterday.

Regarding trading volume, there was a 35.4% decrease to 358.12 million units compared to yesterday’s 554.72 million units. However, in terms of value, there was a 12.1% increase to N19.88 billion from yesterday’s N17.73 billion.

  • DEAPCAP: +8.62% to close at N0.63
  • STERLINGNG: +7.95% to close at N4.75

Top Losers

  • FTNCOCOA: -9.80% to close at N1.38
  • CILEASING: -8.66% to close at N3.48
  • GUINNESS: -8.39% to close at N0.35
  • GUINEAINS: -7.89% to close at N0.35
  • ABCTRANS: -7.69% to close at N0.72
  • NEM: -7.56% to close at N5.50

Top Traded Stocks In terms of trading volume, TRANSCORP led with 92.87 million units, followed by TRANSPOWER with 30.51 million units, UBA with 26.19 million units, ACCESSCORP with 23.28 million units, and GTCO with 18.04 million units. Concerning value, TRANSPOWER led with N11.645 billion, followed by TRANSCORP with N1.57 billion, MTNN with N1.27 billion, NESTLE with N1.06 billion, and GTCO with N734.5 million.

SWOOT and FUGAZ Update Trading sentiment remained positive for stocks worth over one trillion, with MTNN, ZENITHBANK, GTCO, TRANSPOWER, and TRANSCOHOT recording price gains. Tier-1 banks also recorded a positive sentiment, with ZENITHBANK, GTCO, ACCESSCORP, and UBA seeing price gains, while FBNH recorded a price decline.
