Justin Timberlake, a pop singer, was freed from police detention after being charged with driving while intoxicated. The 43-year-old singer was detained in Long Island and appeared in court on Tuesday, June 18.
Timberlake, famed for songs like “SexyBack,” came at the Sag Harbour courthouse tied with his hands in front, escorted by his attorney and two others. He was wearing a black bowling shirt, light jeans and white and baby blue Air Force 1 trainers. His handcuffs were released following the court hearing. According to a source familiar with the matter, Justin Timberlake appeared “a bit upset” throughout the arraignment. His wife, actress Jessica Biel, was noticeably absent.
According to TMZ, Timberlake is facing one count of DWI as well as extra citations for running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane. His next court appearance is set for July 26. According to sources, the incident occurred following Timberlake’s dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbour. He was pulled over while en route to a friend’s residence, and no injuries were recorded. Attempts to contact Timberlake’s agents for comment were futile.
