Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president, has admitted to having a 25 percent hearing loss at one point without realising it. When Obasanjo honoured Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman-Adamu, the Emir of Bauchi, on Sunday, he made this statement. Many people around the world, he claims, are deaf without being aware of it until they undergo medical testing to determine their hearing ability.

The man requested for his permission to check on his ears after he said that he was overseas and had trouble hearing well when someone was speaking to him. He argued that there was nothing wrong with his ears. The clinical investigation revealed that he was 25% deaf, according to Obasanjo.

“I had to ask the man to check on my Chief Security Officer after my results came out, but he was more deaf than I was, which was shocking,” he stated. He claimed that the Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation was founded as a result of this experience and that thousands of Nigerians have benefited from the organization’s ear care and distribution of hearing aids in collaboration with the Starkey Hearing Foundation.

The former president announced that he will begin distributing hearing aids to around 10,000 impoverished individuals in the Northeast, beginning with 2,000 recipients in Bauchi State.

He stated that the Obasanjo Foundation would carry out the project, which was named “Sound Intervention Mission so Nigerians may hear.” Obasanjo added that in order to address the nation’s security issues, all hands must be on deck. In response, Sulriman-Adamu stated that Obasanjo’s presence in the state is evidence of his strong dedication to the advancement and development of every area of the nation.
