Tems, a Grammy award-winning Nigerian musician, has announced her desire to form a women’s football squad. During a recent podcast interview, the well-known artist spoke about her love of sports and her vision for women’s football.
“I enjoy sports. I enjoy sports, and if I could play football, I would. “I’m like a football fan,” Tems exclaimed excitedly.
“I want to form a female football team. I believe that is something that is necessary. Why can’t we just do something like a local tournament with the girls? I think that would be enjoyable.”
She emphasised that her planned women’s football team would compete in regional competitions. She rose to prominence in 2020 with the smash single ‘Essence,’ a collaboration with fellow Nigerian singer Wizkid.
