The Guinness World Records organization announced on Tuesday that it has begun an investigation into Hilda Baci’s cooking exploit.

Guinness World Record said in a tweet on its official Twitter handle on Tuesday that it is looking forward to receiving evidence of Hilda’s cooking feat for its Records Management Team to review.

According to a Guinness World Record Spokesperson on Twitter;

We are aware of the record attempt and are looking forward to receiving the evidence for our Records Management Team to review before we can confirm the record is official.

Remember how a Nigerian chef has been slaving away in her kitchen in the hopes of setting a world record?
Hilda Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci on social media, has been making headlines around the world since she began her cooking marathon.

She hopes to break the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), which is currently held by Lata Tondon (India) with a time of 87 hours and 45 minutes.

Hilda reportedly began cooking on Thursday and continued until Monday, preparing 55 recipes and more than 100 meals in a 100-hour span.

Our records team officials are looking forward to reviewing the evidence and hope to be able to confirm Hilda’s efforts as a new record very soon.

Hilda explained that she was accepting the challenge to promote Nigerian cuisine.

She told CNN:

Nigerian cuisine is the best out there. The more recipes are propagated, the more people will be willing to try it. Nigerian food is such comfort food.
