Governor’s Residence:Ballot Box Destroyed At Ogun State

At the Ogun State Governors’ residence On Saturday, unknown armed individuals broke into a polling location in Ayegbami, Ogun State’s Ikenne Local Government Area, in which they destroyed a ballot box, and interfered with the local election, Entrepreneurng report.

According to an eyewitness who declined to give his name for security reasons, the motorcycle-riding thugs broke into the voting booth around 3.40 p.m., stole the ball box, and destroyed it. This act was indispensable but nothing was done because they came very prepared to the greatest surprise of everyone.

“The Ayegbami voting unit has been destroyed,” he declared. Both the ballot box and the papers were destroyed, and they were all over the floor. I had to leave the area right away.

According to the report, the indigene gene who was found spoke under the condition of anonymity for security reasons, He said that the thugs immediately left the polling place after upsetting the voting process.

“Some boys broke the ballot box at the voting location in Ayegbami. They took all the ballots and fled, leaving the broken ballot box on the highway. They were riding motorbikes.

On arrival at the voting location in Ayegbami, the area was left deserted and ballots were all over the street. Even On the highway, the damaged ballot box was also seen. It was also sensed that the indigenes were incensed by the invasion of the polling place.

However, some of them claimed that the attack was unjustified, while others claimed politicians were behind it.

While expressing their outrage over the attack, the mob stormed Ward 3, Polling Unit 003, Iregun, which was close to the governor’s voting location.

It was seen that determined voters and security personnel, including the police, army, NSCDC, and NDLEA, among others, resisted attempts to scuttle the electoral process in the polling unit in Iregun. With assumptions that this was automatically planned out by the presupposed party or thereabout.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, who was the state police public relations officer, promised to learn more about the attack and get back to our correspondent when he was contacted.

Even after this was reported to him over an hour past he didn’t move a hitch but was only perambulating around the case.

In conclusion, this act portrayed by these men was uncalled for. Every citizen had their right to fully exercise their vote but has been turned to void because it is no longer part of the vote that will be counted.
