Flutterwave enables its online Merchants in Nigeria to accept American Express payments

Flutterwave, Africa’s largest payments technology business, announced today that its online merchants in Nigeria may now take American Express payments. American Express Card Members in Nigeria will be able to make direct payments to e-commerce enterprises utilising Flutterwave, whether they have consumer, business, or corporate cards.

Flutterwave businesses in additional countries, including as Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana, and Uganda, will soon be able to use this service. This collaboration facilitates online transactions and provides a variety of benefits for both retailers and online shoppers:

Flutterwave shops may expand their consumer base to include American Express Card Members in Africa and around the world. This includes both personal cardholders and those who spend on commercial or corporate products. Terms & Conditions apply. Shoppers now have more options for selecting their preferred mode of payment when purchasing with Flutterwave merchants.

This relationship extends American Express’ global network and expands the number of venues in Africa where American Express Card Members can purchase a variety of goods and services.

Olugbenga ‘GB’ Agboola, Founder and CEO of Flutterwave, stated, “At Flutterwave, we’re continuously exploring for methods to link the globe to Africa through payments.

This is one of our projects to help more people around the world pay using Flutterwave in Africa. We realise the importance of giving customers with payment options that work for them, as well as assisting businesses in expanding their customer bases.

This agreement also gives American Express cardholders around the world more alternatives for where to shop and what to buy. By accepting American Express, Flutterwave will make the payment process faster and simpler for American Express cardholders, as well as improve the experience for e-commerce enterprises using Flutterwave, allowing them to start locally and sell globally.”

We are providing e-commerce entrepreneurs in Nigeria with the ability to contact American Express Card Members all around the world thanks to our partnership with Flutterwave, a trusted payment provider. The agreement is a win-win because it also enhances the number of places where our Card Members can use their Cards in Nigeria.”
