The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with leading payment technology company, Flutterwave, to enhance youth empowerment and business development in Nigeria.
According to a statement released on Friday, the signing ceremony was attended by the Minister for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Olubunmi Olusanya, and other senior officials from the ministry.
The partnership aims to implement strategic initiatives that will equip young Nigerians with essential training, mentorship, and business opportunities to support small enterprises and entrepreneurs.
Flutterwave’s Founder and CEO, Olugbenga Agboola, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to developing sustainable solutions that empower Nigerian youth. He emphasized Flutterwave’s dedication to fostering economic growth by providing training, facilitating partnerships, and creating access to business opportunities.
Speaking at the event, Minister Olawande commended Flutterwave for its contributions to youth development, noting that the collaboration aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s vision for youth empowerment.
He further highlighted the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the Citizenship & Leadership Training Centre as key agencies that will play a crucial role in driving the initiative’s implementation.
“This partnership directly contributes to achieving the President’s eight priority pillars by providing young entrepreneurs with the resources to scale their businesses.
“Expanding access to training and mentorship programmes. Supporting youth-led businesses to drive innovation. Strengthening technical and leadership training. Leveraging technology to create sustainable employment opportunities and engaging youth through the NYSC and CLTC,” part of the statement read.
