A licence to build a new refinery has been approved by the Federal Government through the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
A company called Process Design and Development Limited has been granted permission to build a new refinery with a capacity of 27,000 barrels per day.
According to the statement, the facility will be situated in Gombe State’s Dole-Wure, Akko area.
“Authority Chief Executive presented a Licence to Establish a 27,000 BPSD Refinery to the Managing Director/CEO of Process Design and Development Limited,” the authority stated in a post on its official X handle on Thursday.
“The refinery is to be located in Dole-Wure, Akko, Gombe State.”
According to the most recent development, Nigeria’s refining capacity has increased to approximately ten regular and modular refineries.
