Jonathan Zwingina, the former majority leader of the Senate, reportedly passed away at the age of 70. Zwingina was a well-known figure in Nigerian politics.
He was also the Director-General of the MKO Abiola Campaign Organisation during the historic June 12, 1993 presidential election.
According to reports, the politician, who was born in Adamawa State, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, in the country’s capital of Abuja, at the age of 70. Zwingina is reported to have died after a protracted illness.
He was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and served as senator for Adamawa South Senatorial District before joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).
