Elon Musk engages in viral Twitter exchange with George Soros over liberal financier’s role in American politics

Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, called out fellow billionaire George Soros on Monday, sparking a firestorm online about the controversial liberal financier’s role in American politics.

Republicans renewed their criticism of him after it was discovered that Soros had supported a number of left-wing district attorneys lacross the country.

In more recent times, Soros has come under fire for a $1 million donation he gave to a foundation run by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, the prosecutor who oversaw the indictment of former President Donald Trump.

On Monday, Musk publicly criticised Soros, likening him to the X-Men comic book series villain “Magneto,” in his remarks.

Magneto is a superhuman with the ability to produce and manipulate magnetic fields.

“Soros reminds me of Magneto,” Musk wrote Monday in a tweet that quickly went viral online and has racked up over 26.8 million views on Twitter.

According to independent writer Brian Krassnestein, who backed Soros, the Hungarian-American millionaire had survived the Holocaust like Magneto.

Musk replied to Krassenstein five minutes later: “You assume they are good intentions. They are not. He wants to erode the very fabric of civilization. Soros hates humanity.”

Through his organisation, the Open Society Foundations, Soros has donated millions to sway American lawmakers to the left on topics like crime, illegal immigration, and climate change.

The Democratic Party has continued to get support from Soros’ son, Alex. According to White House visitor logs seen by Fox News Digital, Alex visited the White House at least 14 times since October 2021 and met with a variety of authorities, including aides for the then-Chief of Staff Ron Klain and national security officials.

In a Wall Street Journal op-ed from July 2022, Soros stated that he has “no intention of stopping” his support for liberal prosecutors like Kimberly Gardner in St. Louis, Larry Krasner in Philadelphia, and Kim Foxx in Chicago, who have all been charged with enabling crime to thrive in their respective cities.
