Edo 2024: APC’s Victoria Amu pulls out guber race

As the 2024 governorship election in Edo State looms on the horizon, Mrs. Victoria Amu, a notable figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, has recently disclosed her intention to withdraw from the gubernatorial race. This decision comes amidst a backdrop of commendation for the Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Mr. Adams Oshiomole, for his exemplary management of APC’s internal affairs.

In a public statement, Mrs. Amu conveyed her appreciation for Senator Oshiomole’s leadership, specifically highlighting his adept handling of the party’s matters. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the political process and acknowledged the importance of abiding by the decisions of the APC.

Mrs. Amu went on to declare that she would no longer pursue the acquisition of the APC’s nomination forms, signaling a conscious step back from her initial gubernatorial aspirations. This decision, she emphasized, stems from her belief that the collective goals and resolutions of the party should supersede individual ambitions, Victoria Amu.

In her own words, Mrs. Amu elucidated, “While I am passionate about the prospect of serving the good people of Edo State as their governor, I want to make it unequivocally clear that my ambition is not greater than the supremacy of our party.” She underscored her alignment with the APC’s vision and principles, emphasizing the pivotal role of party unity and the larger significance of the party’s resolutions in the democratic process.

Furthermore, Mrs. Amu reiterated her commitment to upholding the fundamental principle of party supremacy. She expressed her dedication to contributing to the success of the APC in Edo State and reassured party members that she would abide by the decisions of the party, including internal processes like primaries and other mechanisms, Victoria Amu.

In addressing the upcoming 2024 elections, Mrs. Amu stressed the paramount importance of party unity, stating, “Party unity is paramount as we approach the 2024 elections. I am dedicated to working collaboratively with party members, leaders, and stakeholders to ensure a strong and united APC in Edo State.” Her commitment to fostering a cohesive party was evident, and she expressed optimism about building a party that truly represents the aspirations of the people.

Taking a moment to extend gratitude to the state’s APC leader and former governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, Mrs. Amu hailed his leadership qualities. She expressed her eagerness to actively contribute to the success of the party under his guidance and acknowledged the opportunity to share her thoughts on the party’s screening process for the Edo 2024 Governorship race, Victoria Amu.

In a message directed to Senator Oshiomhole, Mrs. Amu stated, “Firstly, I commend your management of the party as our national leader and your initiative in handling numerous aspirants fairly. Comrade sir, despite being screened out, I affirm my commitment to abide by the party’s decision on the recent screening, selection, and criteria adopted.”
