The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is set to commence the nationwide distribution of fuel, specifically petrol and diesel, on August 15, 2025.

This marks a major step in reshaping Nigeria’s fuel supply chain and reducing dependency on fuel imports.

According to the Dangote Group, over 4,000 newly acquired CNG-powered tankers will be deployed to ensure the seamless transportation of fuel across the country. This move is part of a broader strategy to improve logistics, cut costs, and increase fuel accessibility, especially in underserved and rural areas.

In a bid to support businesses and improve affordability, the refinery has announced that logistics support will be provided free of charge to registered bulk buyers and marketers. In addition, companies that purchase at least 500,000 litres of fuel will qualify for an extra 500,000 litres on credit, with a two-week payment window backed by bank guarantees.

The Federal Ministry of Finance noted that this initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, targeting job creation, inflation reduction, and better economic stability. Stakeholder registration begins on June 16, 2025, and will run until the official launch date.

With this distribution rollout, Dangote aims to reactivate many dormant filling stations, support SMEs, and make fuel more available and affordable across the nation.
