On May 22, President Muhammadu Buhari will dedicate the Dangote Refinery.
Bashir Ahmad, Special Assistant to the President for Digital Communications, stated this yesterday.
He tweeted:
Efforts by the Federal Government to make Nigeria self-sufficient in local refining of crude oil and save the scarce foreign exchange used in the importation of petroleum products have received a boost.
The 650,000 barrels per day Dangote Refinery, the world’s largest single-train refinery, is set for inauguration on May 22nd, 2023, by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Sunday Esan, General Manager, Corporate Communications at the Dangote Group, told The Nation that invitations to the event had been sent out.
Dangote Oil Refinery is a 650,000 BPD integrated refinery project located in the Lekki Free Zone near Lagos.
It will be Africa’s largest oil refinery and the world’s largest single-train facility.
The pipeline infrastructure at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery is the world’s largest, stretching 1,100 kilometers and capable of handling three billion standard cubic feet of gas per day.
The refinery alone has a 435MW power plant that can meet Ibadan DisCo’s total power requirements.
The Refinery will meet all of Nigeria’s refined product requirements and will have a surplus of each of these products for export.
It is a multibillion-dollar project that will create a market for $21 billion in Nigerian crude per year.
The refinery is intended to process crude from Nigeria and other countries.
