Cooking gas price increases by 37.34% year on year- NBS

In its recent publication on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) Price Watch (November 2022), the National Bureau of Statistics revealed that the average retail price for refilling a 5kg Cylinder of Cooking Gas increased by 1.46% month on month, from N4,483.75 in October 2022 to N4,549.14 in November 2022.

This increased by 37.34% yearly from N3,312.42 in November 2021.

Niger had the highest average price for refilling a 5kg Cylinder of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) with N4,983.33, followed by Kwara with N4,963.33, and Adamawa with N4,960.00, according to State profile analysis.

On the other hand, Abia had the lowest price of N4,125.00, followed by Delta and Anambra, which had prices of N4,202.78 and N4,204.17, respectively.

Furthermore, zone analysis revealed that the North-Central recorded the highest average retail price for refilling a 5kg Cylinder of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) at N4,852.74, followed by the North-East at N4,606.80, and the South-East at N4,357.18.
