More Nigerians are looking at possibilities to immigrate to Canada as their country faces ongoing economic difficulties. Nigerians looking for a better life are increasingly choosing to relocate to Canada, which is well-known for its friendly immigration laws and thriving job market, Canadian visa.

For those wishing to start over, Canada is a desirable alternative due to its extensive immigration policies and job-seeking tactics. Nigerians have multiple opportunities in Canada due to its need for qualified workers and its intention to welcome half a million new immigrants by 2025. With the use of these channels, prospective immigrants have several ways to live and work in Canada, including the Express Entry system and family sponsorships.

The following are the top five methods for Nigerians to immigrate to Canada and find work:

Provincial Nominee Programmes (PNPs)

Throughout the pandemic, Canada’s provinces continued to nominate overseas workers for permanent residence. By 2025, Canada aims to welcome 117,500 new immigrants through PNPs. Each of Canada’s ten provinces and three territories offers unique nominee programmes with specific eligibility criteria. Some PNPs require a connection to the country.

Express Entry

Canada’s fastest and most popular immigration programme, Express Entry allows candidates to receive permanent residence status in as little as six months.

Immigration for Business

Federal and provincial business immigration programmes provide a route to permanent residence and employment in Canada for individuals possessing managerial or ownership expertise in businesses. These courses are intended for people who want to launch a business or work for themselves in Canada. A substantial financial commitment is usually necessary for business immigration, with exact sums varied by programme and location.

Endorsement

For people who have an eligible family member who is a citizen or permanent resident of Canada, family sponsorship is sometimes the simplest option. This year, 105,000 new permanent residents are expected to enter Canada under family sponsorship schemes. Sponsoring a relative will set you back about CAD 1,135 (plus more for Quebec residents). While processing times can vary, spousal sponsorship normally takes a year or so.
