Residents and businesses in Taraba State are struggling due to an ongoing power outage, which is causing businesses to suffer increasing losses. In order to meet basic demands, hotels and water production facilities are among the hardest affected and are currently rationing limited power.

They’re spending a lot of money on petrol and diesel for generators to keep things running smoothly, which raises operational expenses.

The blackout has forced inhabitants to look for expensive alternatives, making it difficult for many households to power appliances and charge necessary devices on a regular basis. As a result, the cost of sachet water has increased; in most stores, a bag now costs between N300 and N500.

Due to a shortage of flowing water, sachet water has been an essential supply of clean drinking water in Jalingo, the state capital, which has increased people’ annoyance.

In the event that the blackout persists, residents are threatening to stop paying their bills and are urging the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) to restore power.
