Yinka Olowojobi, a lecturer at Babcock University, Ilisan-Remo in Ogun State’s Ikenne local government area, was fatally murdered at a relaxation centre in Iperu.

The development was verified in a statement by Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command.

According to the statement, Odutola Olowojobi was one of three people shot by gunmen who stormed the Ajadeh Event Centre on Sagamu Road in Iperu at around 9.20 p.m. last Friday.

“The lecturer was taken to Babcock University Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.”

She stated that approximately eight individuals clothed in black and armed with firearms entered the relaxing area from an unknown location and opened fire indiscriminately.

Olowojobi was claimed to have been shot in the chest for refusing to accompany them, while the armed men abducted a car stand manager named Dare and another unidentified individual.

Odutola went on to say that “a suspicious coincidence led the police to arrest one Awada Ishaya “m” of Plateau state, who was employed as a security guard two weeks ago when the event centre was launched, for further interrogation.”
